When created, the Constitution was a compromise between those who wanted complete freedom and those who wanted to establish an administrative state to keep order. Many people wanted a king since they knew of no social order other than a society ruled by a king. Over twenty amendments were initially proposed for the Bill of Rights; ten were ratified. Federalists wanted a condition of dual sovereignty whereby each state relinquishes some authority to the Federal Government with specific limitations. The Anti-Federalists fought for individual rights to be codified into Constitutional Law. The compromise resulted in the Bill of Rights with ten amendments. Since then, more have been ratified, bringing twenty-seven approved amendments.
In recent decades, Constitutional patriots have been fighting to preserve the Constitution from efforts by Socialists, Marxists, and others who wish to abolish every aspect of the Constitution and its limits. When one side fights to preserve the original compromise while the other wishes to cancel the Constitution, every compromise erodes the original compact. This slow process of eroding our Constitution cannot be corrected by more attempts to compromise the original Constitutional agreement. The solution is to have an agenda for more controls and limits on governmental powers above and beyond current limits. Establish more limitations which create absolute limits to governmental powers and complete accountability for any who choose to work in government.
This site is dedicated to creating conversations about what regulations people have the power to place on the government to keep power in the hands of the people and keep the country free. By having an agenda to implement more controls on government, at worst, a compromise with Marxists would maintain the status quo.
