Donald Trump has become the first former President in American history to be charged with federal crimes. The charges revolve around the possession of classified documents. People are in an uproar over this being a third-world-style political persecution of the incumbent’s opposition leader. The left claims that this isn’t politically motivated, yet the DOJ has been paying no heed to credible accusations of corruption relating to not only Democrats but the President himself.
Biden claims this is not political persecution, yet he had classified documents he wasn’t privy to and isn’t being charged. There is a straightforward way that President Biden could make it clear that this isn’t a political persecution of his crucial opponent; pardon Donald Trump and let the nation move on. His reluctance to do so makes it clear that we have a two-tier justice system that prosecutes conservatives while exonerating liberals.
This prosecution exposes the members of a so-called “deep state.” The most influential voices that are silent on the issue are the past Presidents.
Where is Obama? Where is George W. Bush? Where is Bill Clinton? They are silent.
When Obama, Bush, and Clinton left office, NARA rented a warehouse in the area where these presidents resided after leaving office. They shipped documents from the White House to the warehouses. They gave the former Presidents two years to comb through the papers and decide what would go in their Presidential library and which documents would be returned to the National Archives. They needed two years to go through them because they didn’t know all the contents shipped to the warehouse.
In Donald Trump’s case, NARA shipped the documents to Donald Trump’s house, then raided the residence before the former President even had the opportunity to go through them. If this doesn’t stink of a setup, then what does? Why aren’t the past Presidents speaking up to point out the apparent double standard? Is it because the past Presidents benefit from the government’s power over the people, and Trump is the people’s representative of their power over the government?
Respect for opposing political parties and the peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of Democratic societies. Politicizing the justice system against opposing parties is the hallmark of authoritarian dictatorships. The Attorney General should seek approval from a President before prosecuting a former President (and competitor in the upcoming election).
A competent President would remove such an AG if the Attorney General went ahead without consulting the sitting President. Either Biden has sanctioned the prosecution or allows an AG who doesn’t respect the President’s authority to run amuck.
When the Republicans gained the House of Representatives and got subpoena powers, they began unearthing evidence of bribery and corruption along with a cover-up by our DOJ. This means that if Republicans were to gain control of prosecutorial powers, many Democrats could be facing prosecution. If they wanted leniency in such an event, they shouldn’t be prosecuting Donald Trump. Donald Trump didn’t prosecute Hilary Clinton or James Comey. This was to maintain a functioning republic and attempt to unify the people, not divide them.
It seems the Democrats have gone all-in on a plan to control all the levers of power in the government permanently. It means they intend to end democracy in America. This begs the question, will they peacefully transfer power in the event of a Presidential election loss?
President Biden’s lack of a pardon is a “crossing the Rubicon” moment in American history. It is an all-in commitment to end Democracy in America. The era of debate and compromise has come to an end. When one side refuses to compromise, there is only one outcome. One side must prevail. Either we re-institute the Constitution in its simplest form and add safeguards to retain power in the hands of the people or let the world fall into tyranny.
Many people in America have spent their lives focusing on getting a good job, getting married, having their 2.5 kids, a house in the suburbs, a vacation home, and a stable retirement account. Their focus on their own life and not maintaining the environment that made it possible allowed collectivist thought to fester and infect every aspect of our culture. Your ability to follow that plan is now gone. Americans must focus on restoring the environment, which makes it possible; a Constitutional Republic with democratic elections and dual sovereignty.
It is once again a time for choosing. Put your country first and put your professional ambitions on the back burner until the Republic has been restored and reinforced, or one day you’ll be telling your kids and your grandkids what America was like when people were free.
